3 Simple AI Prompts to Lighten Your Mental Load
Kids arguing, dog howling, piles of laundry and dishes, dirty floors and dirty hair… Some days I just want to sit in the middle of it all and cry because of the mental overload.
It seems like I can’t finish even one task, and sometimes I don’t even know where to start. I start to feel like a failure as a mom - and that is NOT a fun place to be.
There have been several times over the years I have actually said out loud, “I just need someone to tell me what to do!!!”
If you’re like me, you’re hesitant to bring these types of frustrations to a friend or even your husband sometimes - for fear of judgment or coming across as whining.
As moms, we want to have it all together and under control, always. And most of the time, we do! Moms are superheroes in real life. But we all have those days we need a little extra mental support.
Well, guess what - AI can be that support. And with no judgment (as far as I know).
I never realized that ChatGPT could help me organize my brain, my to-do list, AND tell me how to prioritize “me time” so that I don’t totally lose my mind.
Here are three prompts that should come in very handy for you on a regular basis. Start using them TODAY and get yourself set up for the week ahead.

Prompt 1: To-Do Brain Dump
Use this prompt in ChatGPT:
“I need help clearing my mental to-do list. Act as a calm, helpful assistant. Ask me questions to guide a brain dump of everything I’m trying to remember—errands, chores, appointments, reminders, etc. Then help me organize it by category.”
Prompt 2: Schedule Prioritizer
Use this prompt in ChatGPT:
“Here’s my list of things I think I need to do today: [paste list]. Help me prioritize this by:
Urgent & important
Can wait or be delegated
Not necessary or done out of guilt
Suggest what I can skip or simplify to lower my stress today.”
Prompt 3: Gentle Self-Care Routine
Use this prompt in ChatGPT:
“I need a gentle self-care routine for today. I don’t have a lot of time, but I’m feeling burned out. Ask me a few quick questions about my energy level, time availability, and what soothes me. Then suggest a short, realistic routine I can actually follow.”
Don’t be afraid to be specific in your prompts and ask for exactly what you want from your AI assistant!
